Moving in to the new
The new year is heading into full swing, school will soon be back and we tend to find ourselves immersed in our "normal" routines of work and life.
As practitioners of mindful living and as valuers of self awareness, it might be useful to ask, HOW we move into this new year and what that means for us.
Are we racing, sprinting, bounding or lunging forward? Will we trudge, drag our feet, or mosey? Perhaps it feels more like a crash tackle or a jousting contest? Or is it a dance? Waltz, tango or cha cha? Are you diving in or gliding in? Are you on your knees?
The metaphorical question presents us with a creative way to reflect on our new year state of being from all perspectives - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
If we are racing, what is the rush? If we are sprinting or bounding, is it from a place of fear or enthusiasm? Is the energy behind your movement high or low? What is the meaning behind how you move into the new year? What are the values that you attach to the year and motivate you to move ahead in the way that you are?
These questions are offered here as a prompt for you to do a little creative self inquiry. What this affords us is a little perspective and a greater level of understanding, so that we can decide, with a little more intention, how we want to move ahead.
If this inquiry is something you would like to do in the company of likemindeds or with some creative support, please be in touch and book in for a group or 1:1 session.
The most important thing we need to remember, however we travel into the year, is to have our wellbeing in the front of our minds. This requires that we make space for a little soul connection time and prioritise that. Will you put your wellbeing first and make this year the best one yet?
Blessings and peace,
